MEN AND WOMEN’S DAY CELEBRATION: KATUKURU
1. Saving schemes for Women Association: Katukuru Women Association organized one day Workshop on 19th April at Katukuru Parish on the Saving Schemes at Family and Community levels with the help of Mbarara City Women Association. They were taught how to make income generating activities and how to establish local markets to sell their products. It was well organized by Mutabarura Monica, the Chairperson for Women for Mbarara City and other Women leaders. Katukuru Women Association received a Certificate of Registration from the Government. It will help them to organize different activities with the help of various agencies.
2. Men`s Day celebrated: Men`s day was celebrated on Sunday 2nd of May. Due to Covid 19 restrictions, we could not conduct any large program, but done BCC level and Sub Centre level only. On the occasion, the Men were advised to follow the life of St. Joseph, the husband of Virgin Mary. Men organized to support some families which are the worst affected during this pandemic time. They promised to visit the aged and sick at their homes. Muhumuza Edward, the Chairperson of Kibaya Sacco was the Chief Guest and Rwemirara Julius, the Councilor of the Division was the Speaker of the day.
