SILVER JUBILEE OF PRIESTHOOD OF FR JOHN FRANCIS CMF
Saturday, May 20th 2023 marked a joyful day for the Ngaremara Catholic Mission. It was a silver jubilee celebration for Rev. Fr. John Francis who completed 25 years of service as priest. The holy mass presided over by the jubilarian Fr. John Francis accompanied by our Claretian priests and also priests working in the diocese of Isiolo. Many religious men and women from different congregations and faithful of Ngaremara Catholic Mission, several local government leaders and guests graced this occasion with their presence. After the holy mass, the jubilarians and the people were entertained with different dances, songs and poems from different groups of Ngaremara people which culminated in the vesting the jubilarian with the traditional clothes of Turkana tribe. The celebrations culminated in a shared meal together and people departed to their respective places.
Rev. Fr. John Francis, CMF was ordained in the year 1998 from Claretian Province of Chennai. After completed all his formation in India, he was sent as missionary to Tanzania by then he was still a deacon. All the 25 years of his priesthood was for the service of the mission in East Africa. He has worked in different missions in Tanzania both in the parishes and in the formation houses. Since 2014 when the East African missions became the independent delegation, Fr. Francis moved to Nairobi Kenya and served as Delegation superior for two terms from 2014 to 2020. At present he is working as superior and parish priest of Ngaremara Catholic Mission in the Catholic Diocese of Isiolo. We wish him and the best and Gods blessing in his ministry.
