CLARETIAN BIBLE COMPETITIONS 2024
As part of the 175th Jubilee Year celebrations of our Congregation, Claretian Formation House Jinja Uganda conducted Bible Quiz and Bible Skit Competitions for Primary Schools and Secondary Schools for the second time in the months of March and April 2024. [It was because of the great success of Claretian Bible Competitions 2023 and because of the request and encouragement received from the schools that we decided to organize the competitions a second time within the same year of our Congregational Jubilee.]
The first part of the competition was held at each school in the month of March 2024. Bible Quiz Competitions were organized for Primary and Secondary Schools separately to encourage the students to read and study the Bible. The best five students from each school were awarded gifts and they were invited for an inter-school competition.
The second part of the competition was held on Saturday, April 13, 2024 at Queen of Apostles Philosophy Centre Jinja (PCJ). The main attraction of this final day competition was the inter-school Bible Skit Competition based on the theme ‘Love of God and Love of Neighbour’. The theme of the previous competitions was ‘Forgiveness and Reconciliation’. Members from 13 schools participated in the competitions this time. It was very inspiring to see how some of the schools presented this theme by combining biblical teaching with the present-day realities. It was also an occasion for all of us to see how young boys and girls can present biblical teachings in their own creative ways using their artistic talents and imagination.Fr. Amos Moses Onyait CMF was the Chief Guest during the programme. In his message, Fr. Amos encouraged the participants to use all possible means to spread the message of the Bible to all people. He also thanked the members of Jinja Formation House for organizing such a programme
