THE YOUTH GO BACK TO SCHOOL RALLY
ST. JACINTA CATHOLIC PARISH CHEBORORWA
St. Jacinta Catholic Parish has over time valued the Youth Go Back To School Rally. This year, Fr. Madu CMF the parish priest organized it at Kapchebit Sub station. It’s an event that makes the end of Holydays as the youth of the parish. It also gathers the youth of the whole parish together for an educative talk and of the social life of the youth. It’s geared towards helping the youth to grow in their faith within the social situation. This is also a time they come to ask questions that puzzle their faith and social context.
For this year a talk was delivered by Bro. Ignatius Olinga CMF about vocation, forms of vocation, and the indicators of the presence of a religious vocation with an example of Samuel in the Bible. He encouraged the youth to always for pray over our vocations and to consult our Eli’s for proper directions. He also encouraged the youth to develop meaningful ways of stress management. In addition to always stay focused on studies and respecting our parents as they are the source of blessings in our lives.
Fr. Cletus Murunga CMF also supplemented on the questions that puzzled the faith of the youth. He advised the youth to talk note of the sexualized media adverts as such knowledge on display has been targeted for the youth. He also responded to the question about the salary of a priest. He clearly stated that, priest is not a career but as a service offered to the people of God without any pay. This is opposed to the career job where one does with a wage a tagged to it. In addition, in responded to a question as to why we pray a rosary more. He clarified that, all the mysteries of the Roary are directed to Jesus. But only two are for Mary. Therefore, the Rosary directs us to Jesus via the virgin Mary.
In conclusion, the Parish Priest Fr. Madu CMF encouraged the youth to keep united and help each other in the building the church through supporting church activities. He also encouraged then not to forget prayers.
